It’s not normally possible to get the latest technology without paying a premium, but the Hitachi KC18DBL Four-Piece Lithium-Ion Combo Tool Kit is an exception. Here, you get the very latest in cordless tool technology –lithium-ion batteries — and save a bundle in the process. Buying these four 18-volt tools individually would cost nearly twice as much as the combo kit price. This kit also comes with a FREE WH18 Impact Driver! This versatile four-piece kit includes a hammer drill, reciprocating saw, circular saw, and five-position work light. The hammer drill boasts a best-in-class rating of 570 in./lbs. of torque for powering through the toughest jobs, including boring holes in concrete. The heavy-duty circular saw comes with a 6-1/2-inch carbide-tipped blade. The cut-anything/anywhere reciprocating saw features tool- less blade changes and triple-sealed construction for long-term durability. Finally, there’s a handy lantern that has two lighting modes : fluorescent and LED. Also included in the kit are two 3.0-amp-hour, 18-volt lithium-on batteries that offer three times the life at half the weight of standard nicad batteries. And the Universal Battery Charger charges lithium-ion, nicad and nickel-metal hydride batteries ranging from 7.2 to 18 volts, except the 18V 1.5Ah Lithium Ion Slide Batteries (BSL1815X). Everything stores in a convenient soft-sided carrying bag. The kit’s three power tools can handle nearly any cutting, drilling, or screw driving job you’re likely to encounter, and the work lantern has value far beyond the jobsite. Take it camping, keep it in the car, or use it during a blackout. This four-piece kit would prove invaluable to any professional contractor or serious do-it-yourselfer. — Joseph Truini What’s in the Box Hammer drill, circular saw, reciprocating saw, impact driver, lantern, (2) batteries, charger, and bag.

I have to drill in concrete everyday.. I read the reviews of this set of Hitachi drill/driver, most prices I found were about 600 for both.. Being that I got the items for about $260 via amazon was appealing. But I didn’t know how it would hold up in my work. I read even more reviews and then purchased. The strength and reliability are far greater then mentioned. I’ve dropped them from 2 stories, been in the rain with them (Here in SC it was more like a major down poor). Ran them as hard as I can. My dewalt had failed by now, but this set.. Not even close to failure. I still keep my dewalt as backup, but I’m very impressed with this set of drill and driver.

So far this drill combo works perfectly, feels solid and comfortable while using and is way more durable than the Black&Decker I had before. One of the only items that Amazon will ship to Hawaii. Come on Amazon, we are part of the states and have US $ to spend online.

Reciprocating saw broke with my first use, drill case broke on first use and the chuck is now stripped. All fixed under warrant but who wants the hassle and lost work time even if it is only around my home?

The hammerdrill lost half of it’s speed on the high speed setting after only one hour of use. I hate to disagree with all the five star ratings, but I’m a pro and cannot have tools failing on the jobsite – on the first day of use at that! And the chuck is every bit as bad as my other Hitachi, constantly dropped bits cost a lot of time. I’m sending this back and try some other kind.
