MICRO MESH SANDING SHEETS INTRODUCTORY WOOD KIT
- Kit contains 1 each of the following; 1500, 1800, 2400, 3200, 4000
- 6000, 8000,12000 grit; each sheet is 3″ x 4″.
- One 2″ x 3″ foam sanding block & one set of instructions.
- Designed for craftsman to replace the use of steel wool, rottenstone or pumice.
- May be used on bare or finished wood, wet or dry.
Micro-Mesh is a unique cushioned abrasive capable of giving very fine & very controlled scratch patterns. The grits range from 1500 to 12000. The 1500 is slightly more coarse than a conventional 600 grit sandpaper & the 12000 will leave scratch patterns that cannot be detected by the human eye. Micro-Mesh abrasives can polish to an optically clear, reflective state or through the use of a more coarse grit, leave a matte or satin finish. Excellent product to use as a final rub for water-based finishes.

A fabulous product that does exactly what it says. I learned about it in a pen turning class. Purchased the 1500-12000 grit set to do a couple of holiday gifts last year and have used the set ever since. It turned my projects from nice to WOW! Even my dad who is an 87 year old machinist and knows a thing or two about mirror polishing was impressed. I am only an occassional wood working, doing only one or two dozen small projects a year, but the original sheets are still going strong, despite some significant abuse as I learned to use them. The only improvement that I could think of would be the availability of larger sheets or the lowering of price. It is a near perfect product if you want your small projects to have a professional, mirror finish!
